“I continued to feel burning so I grabbed them off and threw them on the floor. They were sparking and had small amounts of fire,” she added. Customs officers arrested a 24-year-old man Tuesday at the San Ysidro Port of Entry at the Mexico-California border after they discovered four Chinese immigrants crammed in the trunk of his car.
The driver, a U.S. citizen, was crossing to the U.S. from Tijuana at about 5:45 p.m. in a white 2014 Chrysler 200 sedan, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. While the car was at the inspection booth, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection canine team circled the vehicle. The dog, which is trained to detect drugs and smuggled humans, alerted at the trunk.
When officers opened the trunk, they found three women and a man, all Chinese citizens, packed into the cramped compartment. All four were taken into custody after officers determined that they did not have legal authorization to enter the U.S.
“Concealing persons in vehicles is dangerous and could have severe consequences,” said Peter Flores, director of field operations for CBP in San Diego. “San Ysidro CBP officers stopped a violation of our immigration law and were able to resolve the incident safely.”
The driver was arrested and faces federal immigrant smuggling charges. Federal officials seized the man’s car.
The four immigrants are being held pending the conclusion of the criminal case before their “removal” from the United States.
The woman who police believe abandoned her 2-year-old daughter on Sunday at a Riverside supermarket in California– and said “Oh, just leave her,” when a bystander tried to reunite them – has outraged the local community and drawn national attention. The woman, 31 year old Chiengkham Vilaysane has been identified and arrested. The intense scrutiny following the Riverside Police Department’s release of surveillance video from the store helped generate tips that led police to identify and then locate the suspect. Vilaysane was taken in for questioning, then booked into jail about 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Television news trucks, both English- and Spanish-language, spent much of Tuesday camped outside the supermarket, talking to customers, and a nearby police station, hoping to catch her as she was arrested.
On Facebook, social media users who found accounts under the suspect’s name filled the pages with vitriolic comments. Many of them are unprintable. Many did not assume, as the legal system does, innocence until guilt is proved. The kinder comments hoped the woman would get mental-health assistance if she did what she is accused of. Police released surveillance video Monday from the Food 4 Less at 4250 Van Buren Blvd., where the girl was left Sunday evening.
Officer Ryan Railsback said tips from the public helped them identify Vilaysane by Tuesday morning.
“We are 100 percent confident that this girl is the one who was on the video,” he said. Later, someone spotted Vilaysane at a Chase bank and alerted police, who took her into custody, Railsback said.
Vilaysane was cooperating with the investigation and was expected to be booked on felony charges of child endangerment and child abandonment, Riverside police Detective Paul Miranda said. Police released her photo and name in an effort to find her several hours before she was detained.
Miranda said family members told investigators Vilaysane was recently kicked out of her home because she had problems with drugs and alcohol abuse, as well as mental issues.
Police said Vilaysane has an older child who lives with her father, who is also the father of the toddler. Vilaysane may have had past contact with county child protective services and police at her last known address in Riverside, according to Riverside police spokesman Officer Ryan Railsback.

US Citizen Juan Carlos Galan Luperon must have thought he had discovered the ultimate smuggler's trick when he decided to sneak ten pounds of cocaine into the country disguised as part of his clothing. Luperon who was returning to the US from the Dominican Republic via John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York wrapped the drugs worth $164,000 around his legs and wore his trousers over them. US Customs and Border Protection said Luperon was nervous and 'bursting out of his pants,' which 'appeared to be rather snug.' He was taken to a private search room where the packages taped to his body almost looked like leg casts. Luperon could be charged on the federal level with smuggling charges and will be prosecuted by New York's US Attorney office.
Homeland Security chief John Kelly announced that 40 percent fewer illegal immigrants entered the U.S. from Mexico in February than from the previous month. Kelly claimed that the "change in trends" resulted from President Trump’s immigration policies. He stated that the number of “inadmissible persons” at the southern border dropped to 18,762 persons in February from 31,578 in January. He added:
"Since the administration's implementation of executive orders to enforce immigration laws, apprehensions and inadmissible activity is trending toward the lowest monthly total in at least the last five years.”
Kelly said the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency usually sees a 10 to 20 percent increase in apprehensions of illegal immigrants from January to February.
On January 25, Trump signed two executive orders. One ordered a wall to be built along the roughly 2,000-mile U.S-Mexico border.
It also provided additional resources to DHS to stop people intending to “illegally enter the United States without inspection or admission,” and called for an additional 5,000 border agents.

This was because she claimed her husband was cheating on her.
You recall, Tonto had just a few days ago, revealed in a tell-all interview that her baby's father and estranged husband Olakunle Churchill cheated and abused her while they were still together.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday returned to the country after spending 49 days on medical vacation in the United Kingdom, sparking celebrations in the Federal Capital Territory and some states in the North, including Katsina, Bauchi, Gombe, Nasarawa and Kaduna. Many well-wishers slaughtered rams, chickens and celebrated on the streets. The Presidential Aircraft with registration number 001-5N-FGT, conveying Buhari and some of his aides, landed at the Nigerian Air Force 401 Flying Training School Aerodrome at exactly 7.47am. Buhari, who alighted from the aircraft at about 7.55am, after exchanging pleasantries with top government and military officials, went straight into a waiting helicopter that took him to Abuja.
Wild jubilation in Abuja, Katsina, others There was jubilation in the FCT following Buhari’s return to the country on Friday after a prolonged absence. Hundreds of youths in the FCT, particularly in the satellite towns, trooped out as early as 9am on hearing the news of the President’s return. In Maraba, a border town between Nasarawa State and the FCT, hundreds of youths were sighted along Abuja-Keffi Road, celebrating the President’s return.
Abuja-Nasarawa Road was also shut down as it had been taken over by some northerners celebrating Buhari’s arrival and chanting, ‘Sai Baba’. In Nyanya and Karu, youths, particularly from the northern part of the country, were jumping up and shouting “Baba oyoyo, baba yadawo (Baba welcome. Baba has returned). 2019, babu chanji (2019, no change).”
As of noon on Friday, the celebration was still going on along Abuja-Keffi Road, thus causing traffic congestion, particularly at the Nyanya axis. There was also jubilation by residents in Jos, Plateau State, particularly along Bauchi Road. It was learnt that there was reckless driving by youths and commercial tricycle operators in areas on Bauchi Road and Murtala Muhammed Way. In Buhari’s home state, Katsina, there was also festive mood for the better part of Friday as residents trooped to the streets to celebrate the President’s return.
Jubilant residents thronged major streets, including Sabo Line, Nagogo Road, IBB Road, Kofan Kaora and Kofa Waya, some riding on motorcycles and in private vehicles singing the President and Governor Aminu Masari’s praises. Some of the residents also displayed posters of the President and the state governor. One of the jubilant residents, Halheri Haladu, expressed happiness that the President was back in the country.
Also, in Daura, Buhari’s hometown, residents took to major streets to express their joy. The state governor, Masari, in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media, Abdul Labaran, described the President’s safe return to Nigeria as the best gift Nigerians had received this year and commended the people for their love and support for Buhari during the time he was away.
Meanwhile, when the 74 year old retired General was leaving, he was looking frail but a bit stronger. Adorning a dark brown kaftan, he had a vest which might be interpreted to mean that he was cold.
But on his return, he looked leaner and tired. Decked in dark kaftan, the index finger of his left hand was carefully extended, suggesting a sample of his blood was recently checked. He wore a thicker turtle neck vest which could mean he was feeling colder than when he left Nigeria (older people usually feel colder).
The President admitted he had never been this sick, and the before and after pictures tell the story better…
According toBreitbart.com, House
Speaker Paul Ryan’s American Healthcare Act carries even stiffer fines than former
President Obama’s disastrous Affordable Care Act.
High
income earners complained bitterly about Obamacare’s individual mandate penalty
which was enforced by the IRS. The penalty cost one blogger $1,500 in fines for
not having health insurance.
But Ryan’s proposal replaces Obama’s penalty with a 30 percent
surcharge of their monthly premium for failing to carry health insurance over
63 days.
Unlike Obamacare, Ryan’s penalty is not tied to income, making
the penalty costlier for the elderly and low-income Americans.
viaBreitbart— Avalere Health reports that “a 50
year old individual at 100% of the federal poverty level ($11,880 in income for
2016) could pay over $1,000 more in penalties under AHCA for not having
insurance in the prior year than what she would pay for not having insurance
under the current law.
Trump supporters are expected to loudly voice their disapproval
of Ryan’s plan at President Trump’s rally in Nashville, Tennessee next week.
